Hi! I'm Maggie and can I just tell you that I am so happy that you are here! I am a wife to a very supportive (of my crazy DIY habit) and loving husband (we work together as practicing chiropractors) and momma to 4 little ones, five and under...a crazy and handsome little boy (age 5) and two sweet and beautiful little girlies (ages 4 and 2), and another adorable little boy (age 3 months). I started this blog as a way to document our life, sort of like a diary for my kids to read when they are older. You know, so that they see all the fun things we did as a family, all the foods I love to cook up for them, the places we went and maybe even a little bit of their momma's personality in the crafty fun I like to make for them! I love having this little nook of my own to write, share, and talk about whatever is on my mind...fun stuff I tell ya!
So, a little bit about me. I love being a momma...I truly love all things mommy! I love playing Candyland with my kids, making crazy messes in the kitchen, swinging at the park and taking multiple trips in the summer months to see the elephants at the zoo. Sure kids can make you crazy, I have goldfish cracker crumbs embedded in my carpet, fingerprints on my walls and I always seem to be my kids' napkin and tissue rolled into one but I wouldn't want my life any other way. They truly make me look at our world so differently now and I love it. In my downtime I also enjoy crafting, sewing, knitting, baking, cooking, decorating and even doing the laundry...yup laundry. weird? for sure, but I'll own it, happily! I love to teach (back in the day I even taught Gross Anatomy lab classes on human cadavers, for reals--it was a very cool job!) so on here you'll find lots of tutorials, step-by-step recipes and other crafty how-to's. Enjoy them all, what's blogging without sharing!
I'm also the proud owner of a children's clothing & momma's accessory company named Smashed Peas and Carrots. You can find it HERE. I just love designing beautiful handmade goods and although I have enjoyed creating things all my life it's not until I became a momma that I had the opportunity to grow this business. I'm not going to lie, it can be tough (and sometimes downright impossible) to find the time to do so with three little ones but I grab moments when they nap and I'm a stickler for bedtime! I find that when you have a real passion for something you will find the time to do it!
