The Best Bubbles Ever!

Oh, man...I have been meaning to post this for awhile but I kept on getting side-tracked by other things, rats for that!! Good thing you still have 2 months of summer left to get some use out of this post (and trust me you will!)

Okay, so the kidlets and I have really been enjoying our bubbles this summer. Noah and Penelope are both a great age for it plus it's the perfect activity for this momma to do while I sit on my butt in the heat and humidity :) Yay, for that!! Kids run around burning off all their energy and momma sits...yup, I'll take that kind of activity any day!!

Not sure if any of you have ever made your own homemade bubble solution before but if you haven't let me tell you...it's soooo easy!! And cheap!! You only need a few ingredients to make these rockin' bubbles and they are seriously the best bubbles I've ever had the pleasure of blowing or waving around with a wand...LOVE them!!

What did I tell you...these Bubbles rock!!

Have you ever enjoyed such an awesome bubble like this...and with homemade solution at that!?!

Ok, so this recipe is super easy, here is what you need:

The Best Bubbles Ever

6 cups water
2 cups Dawn dishwashing liquid
3/4 cup light corn syrup

Mix all ingredients together in a LARGE container of sorts...an empty water bottle, milk jug, etc. Shake everything up and let sit for a few hours. Pour into empty bubbles containers or dishes and go wild with your bubble wands!!

Yup, seriously...these 3 ingredients make the BEST BUBBLES EVER!!!

Pour all your ingredients into an empty containter, shake it up, and let it sit for a few hours!

Easy Peasy, right?

Now you are ready for some Bubble-Poppin' fun!

Go ahead, chase them down...

The faster you run, the more you can *POP*POP*POP*

Or grab a bucket and try to catch 'em in there...

I got this one!

Yeah, these are the Best Bubbles...

EVER!!!

Corn syrup makes the best bubbles. SOme say that original Joy is the best soap but I don't see the diff. But corn syrup works way better than the more expensive glycerin.

Fantastic! We're watching the fireworks with friends who have toddlers, so this will give my teenagers a great excuse to chase bubbles too!

Do you think the type of dishwashing liquid makes a difference? I tried a similar recipe with something other than Dawn (or Joy), and I really didn't have very good luck.

YES, I think in order to have good bubbles you have to use Dawn (or Joy maybe, I've never used that one though)...and the corn syrup helps so they don't pop right away!! Also, if it's super humid where you live I have heard bubbles do not work as well too, but so far we have had good luck with them and it's been fairly humid over here...boo hoo!

Oh my, I do not know! If you can believe it we don't have a Woolworth's here in the States...it's kinda like honey...so maybe that may be a good substitute?

For the Aussies, do you have access to golden syrup? its the same as corn syrup and i know its available in britain/ireland. also, dawn=fairy liquid if you have that brand or any decent bubbly liquid dish detergent.

Hi Maggie, I HAVE to make these, they look amazing! The only problem is that I'm not in the US and I don't know anything about Dawn. I need to find an equivalent in Australia. I see its used a lot for crafty/thrifty ideas so I'm guessing it may be low cost? Thanks for a great blog! Sam

In your picture the Dawn is ultra concentrated. I just have the original. Does that make a difference? heatherhoo@gmail.com
