Olive Garden Review and $100 Gift Card Giveaway

**This giveaway has ended!!**

I was asked earlier this year to be a part of Olive Garden's "Real Food Real People" campaign and jumped at the chance as I love me some Olive Garden. How can anyone resist their soup, salad and breadsticks?

So a couple of weeks ago, some of my girlfriends and I headed out for a Girls' Night Out, and Olive Garden was our dinner destination point for a fresh, delicious Italian-inspired meal.

Now, I don't get to Olive Garden as much as I'd like to these days. The one in my area is a good 20 minute drive, and I'm usually found wrangling three kids. I have to say, every single time I go, I am always so happy with their menu selection. Everything always sounds good, and when I finally do make a selection it always tastes great. I actually don't think I've ever had a meal there I didn't like!

My friends and I visited on a Saturday night, and we only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table with no reservation. Not too bad! Once we were seated, our super friendly waiter offered us a sampling of their house wine for the night (which I of course declined as I am currently with child!)  But what a way to start off a girl's night out :-)

Then we literally spent 20 minutes picking out our dinners as there was soooo much to choose from that it was hard to narrow it down to just one dish. Our waiter was so polite and funny, and he did such a great job of taking care of us. Olive Garden always seems to have the best staff and service every time I visit. I also love the comfortable, friendly atmosphere, especially the rolling chairs if you sit at a non-booth table; it makes for an easy out if you need to visit the bathroom during your meal!

Most meals at Olive Garden come with unlimited breadsticks AND unlimited soup or salad, which is my absolute favorite thing about eating there. Oh, how I wish I could just buy a bottle of their salad dressing; that stuff is seriously so good. Their portion sizes are large, and each one of us ended up taking leftovers home; they even offer to give you the breadsticks to take home to boot, which in my opinion is so awesome, as so many restaurants just take the bread away and throw it out.

I think our husbands enjoyed us having a night out, too, as my friend's husband asked her to bring her leftovers home, and mine was begging for my leftovers when I walked in the door! Of course I gave them to him as a thank you for putting our kids to bed while I enjoyed a night with friends, a total win-win.

Also, Olive Garden is coming out with a NEW $12.95 DINNER SPECIAL that I cannot wait to go back and try. It is going to include:
3 Course Italian Dinner for $12.95

1st course is soup or salad
2nd course is one of 5 new entrees
3rd course is one of 5 Dolcini desserts.

If you want to see all the delicious options available in Olive Garden's 3 Course Italian Dinner just visit Olivegarden.com/specials

  3. I'm a single mama to four beautiful kids. My youngest is just two, and I have been unemployed since she was born. Our trips out to a restaurant are few and far between. If I won this gift card, I would definitely take my kids to dinner. It would be such a treat for them, and I would get the added bonus of making more precious memories with them!!

  4. I would absolutely take my husband! We both love Olive Garden and a night away from the kids sounds heavenly! ;) We've been struggling to find "us" time lately so this would be a perfect excuse! We even went to Olive Garden when I was in labor with my second baby! The looks on the staff's faces (and the talk in the back that we heard about - lol) was just priceless! I was only 5cm but they totally expected the baby to pop out at any moment! So funny!

  5. I have been out to eat all of about 3 times in the 11 months since my twins were born - the lack of time and $$ has really contributed - maybe having some $$ would encourage us to find the time!

  14. Honestly, I would take my girls, ages 5 and 3 (I have a 7 month old also). They are always so well behaved there. I think it is because they LOVE it! Not to mention both will always start and finish their salad!
Now if I could not bring the kids, I would go with some girl friends after a pedicure. The Hubby is not a huge fan but tolerates it since all his girls love the place!

  50. I would take my boyfriend. Since we have been so busy saving money for our future, we haven't been going out to eat or having a date night, so this would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Olive Garden is one of my favorite places to eat. My entire family loves going there and, in fact, my oldest loves it when his birthday comes. Is it because of the presents? NO! (ok well maybe a little) But the reason or this is because that's also the month Olive Garden has their all you can eat pasta and his absolute favorite is the Olive Garden Fettucini Alfredo.

I would for sure take my husband and a few of our children which sounds funny. To explain, our children are grown and out on their own so we would have to drive an hour to see one, three hours south to see another, and then five hours NE to see two others. So it would depend on which direction our car takes us as to who we would take to go along with us to take advantage of this gift card if we won.

  134. My husband is not a big Olive Garden fan, so I would leave him at home with the 4 kids and go out with some good friends. It is a great place to relax, and get away from everyday life.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I would take my family to the Olive Garden. My family loves to eat there and we have been cutting back on the number of times we eat out a month and this would be such a special treat!

    ReplyDelete
  140. I would take my 98 year old Poppop because Olive Garden is one of his favorite places to go!!

  141. My first instinct is to say I'd take Hubby on a date. But we get to go out on dates often. And it's not uncommon for our dates to take us to Olive Garden. But do you know who I *never* take to OG? My kids. None of them. And I think any of them would love it. So I think I'd maybe take my 8 year old on a Mommy Date. And I think he'd love it.

  142. I have been craving Olive Garden recently, I agree that the salad and breadstick are to die for!! I would take my in-laws out to dinner if I won. They are always inviting our family over for dinner and I'm always too overwhelmed with life and don't think to invite them over. We used to eat out with them once a week(their treat) so it'd be nice to be the one inviting them out(our treat) and I don't have to worry about shopping, cooking and cleaning up. Thanks for a great giveaway!

Me, the hubs, my mom, dad, two sisters and a bro in law. If everyone got the dinner special, it would maybe only cost us $15 extra to feed the whole family and have a great family night which are few and far between nowadays. :(

She's the one who took me to the emergency room when I had to get my gall bladder removed, she took my aunt to the hospital to have her baby, she took my uncle to the base when he was deployed overseas, basically she does it all for everyone.

She loves Olive Garden but the closest one is over an hour away so it's a pretty big treat and this would be an awesome way to get her to go!

  173. I'd take my husband and our 4 kids. We rarely go out to eat and we usually just order out instead of eating at the restaurant. It would be something nice to do, plus we've never been to Olive Garden.

    ReplyDelete
  174. It would be really fun to double date to Olive Garden with our good friends. Between us, we have 6 kids. Would LOVE to get a sitter and enjoy some time together sans kids. We rarely go out together without the kids, because by the time you pay for a sitter AND dinner, you've got a mighty expensive evening. But with a $100 gift card....
